It's mostly a gimmick when you see the size listing on the For Sale Hosting of Domain Hosting sites.
Why?
Most pages are 1-2MB, because most non-complicated informational websites are text and images. Key word is images that are optimized so they load fast - this then makes the file size smaller.
In reality most web sites may average around only 200MB! Clearly this can vary greatly, but for mainly informational websites this is reality. So clearly 5GB is plenty for most individual and small business owners.
Don't be fooled by the gimmic.
If you need more space you can always upgrade your plan, but most Hosting Companies know you will never come near the 5GB or unlimited. It's in their Terms of Service that if you start using as File Storage, you will likely hear from Support right away.
